What we did
3, 2, 1… We’re Remote!
The shift in work models caused by Covid-19 created a major challenge for Rede D’Or: how to continue using the Lean Inception?
Although a common practice in some areas of the company, the traditional model brought significant challenges, even when conducted in person. The excessive time spent (80 hours per inception), the lack of precise direction, and the difficulty in implementing results were constant pain points for Rede D'Or project teams.

With this challenge on the table and in partnership with Estúdio Marte, a new model was created. Thus, our Design Inceptions were born! Our process was designed to take place 100% online and take up a maximum of 20 hours per participant (a 75% time reduction compared to the previous process). Beyond the time savings, because the process was built remotely, all generated material was easy to absorb and share across all company teams.
Customizing the "by the book" approach
The Design Inception was developed under new paradigms and, therefore, did not stick to the "by the book" method. Once in a virtual environment, its facilitation was completely adapted for better efficiency, supporting more than 20 people simultaneously in the same dynamic, reducing the workload and limiting sessions to a maximum of 4 consecutive hours.

The secret was rethinking activities on a project-by-project basis, selecting only those most relevant to each demand. To achieve this, micro-stages of interviews and the generation of guiding criteria were implemented, helping to keep the dynamics on the right track.
A new model: Fast and multidisciplinary
Our Design Inception was very well received and has already contributed to the development of several systems aimed at patient health monitoring, supplier network assembly, defining the user experience in telemedicine and many others.
What makes it so efficient and consistent? Our ability to adapt! In addition to being custom-built for each project, it also features a team dedicated to recalibrating its direction at the end of every session. If necessary, we are always ready to adjust dynamics and activities, without ever compromising the project's essence: its guiding criteria and final objectives.
